The Company

ECC is a music publishing company, incorporated in the USA. The central administration is based in Brussels and accounting is based in New York

The Contract

ECC can be flexible when structuring a deal as we are looking to provide a service that suits your needs. Our agreement is based on years of publishing experience and is written in plain English. We pay advances and/or pipeline income where appropriate. All our collection deals are on at "at source" basis.

The Difference

A "traditional" multi-territory publishing deal involves you ("Owner") licensing your copyrights to a publisher ("Publisher") which in turn will sub-licence your rights to a local sub-publisher ("Sub-publisher"). The Sub-publisher will deduct its share before sending the royalties to the Publisher who then deducts its share before accounting to the Owner. There is also a time delay firstly from the collection societies (of between 3 to 18 months), then the Sub-publisher will retain the money for an accounting period, and finally the Publisher who will retain this for another accounting period before sending it to you - all of this eats into your income.

Neither we, nor anyone else, can avoid the societies delays and commissions but we do account on the gross amount, rather than net receipts, and we cut the distribution time factor which means that you will receive your money at least Six (interest bearing) months earlier.
