new release: 'Unity'

Meditation Soundtrack by Danielle de Picciotto & Alexander Hacke

During their long years of nomadic traveling Danielle de Picciotto and Alexander Hacke have resorted to meditation and yoga practice to remain centered in spite of a restless lifestyle. After being asked by many fans worldwide if they would compose a soundtrack suitable for spiritual and body work, they have now finished an album with this intent.

'Unity' is the Hacke -de Picciotto mixture of drones, throat singing, spoken word, violin harmonies, electric bass guitar and soundscapes with an extra dose of "bow chime" and Indian harmonium.

The album contains three extended pieces of music each 20 minutes long specifically composed to accompany yogic exercise and to induce a meditative state. Though it can also be listened to just for relaxation and general enjoyment, we advise strongly against playing 'Unity' while operating automobiles or other heavy machinery.

'Unity' has been released November 15th via neubauten.org and Bandcamp.

Furthermore, Alexander Hacke has finished a fantastic remix: Hum Of The Universe for the legendary band Membranes.

new signing: Pari San

Berlin-based duo Pari San just signed an exclusive author's agreement with Freibank!

Pari San symbolize a collision of two worlds. On the one hand there’s microsystems technologist Paul Brenning from Berlin, who grew up listening to classical music and keeps a level head in producing Pari San’s electronic synthesizer realms. On the other hand there’s Iranian-born Parissa Eskandari, who grew up in Düsseldorf and has a more intuitive-emotional approach to music and a voice that oscillates between Oriental and Scandinavian influences.

Pari San started to produce their very own brand of pop music with an intense attitude towards the general boundaries of that genre, walking on a thin line between pop songwriting, electronic music production and extrasensory sounds. Avant-garde and different, sensual and magical, pop and high art all at the same time - somewhere between Fever Ray, FKA Twigs and Björk.

These days, Pari San live and work in Berlin and are currently looking back at a first series of concerts very special nights, e.g. at the infamous Fusion Festival or supporting Austra at Berghain and Róisín Murphy at the Tollwood Festival.

'Frozen Time' is Pari San's first EP, released on their own label Jirafa October 21st.

The songs move between hypnagogic avant-garde pop music, artistically arranged vintage R&B and emotionally sweltering pop electronica, a combination that’s accessible to a wide range of listeners.

The video to support the title track was directed by none less than Zoran Bihać, who has shot a number of videos for Rammstein and presents the duo in a Lynch-esque fever dream which explores the balance of power between men and women, and prevailing gender roles.

Their debut album 'Allah Saves The Money' is scheduled for release in spring 2017.

new catalogue: Sound Of Copenhagen

We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Danish record label Cound Of Copenhagen!

Sound Of Copenhagen is a record label founded in 2008 by Le Gammeltoft and late Kjeld Tolstrup. From the beginning, their job has been to catalyse and promote new Danish artists, especially in the electronic genre.

Talent and quirky projects characterize rather unknown producer talents such as Monodub and his playful take on house music, and local boy Louis Petri, whose track 'Easy' has been through producer-duo Borneland’s capable remix machinery.

At the other end of the electronic spectrum, we find Thomas Gaist, whose video of 'Worries' was directed by Anton Iversen as well as Paris Wells, whose track 'Overbite' was chosen by the high end fashion designer Elie Saab for promotional videos created for Cannes film festival. Vicarage's lush and laidback disco/ house-sound has already attracted the attention of several music supervisors: in 2016 their track 'Above This' was licensed by Danish beer giant Carlsberg for an internet campaign in Denmark.

release: Dillon Live at Haus der Berliner Festspiele

Dillon released an album of her live performance at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele in July 2015!

Born in Brazil, raised in Cologne and based in Berlin, Dominique Dillon de Byington, aka Dillon, has always had a clear vision of her art. She already has two albums under her belt, and she actually regards these as part of the same work, since they tell a coherent story.

This has always been apparent in her live shows, which are carried by a magical interchange between the dark-melodic songs of both albums. When the Berlin Foreign Affairs Festival asked her, in 2015, to develop a unique concert idea, she decided on a performance with a sixteen-piece women’s choir, which accompanied her and Tamer Fahri Özgönenc, her collaborator and co-producer of her first two albums, in the live performance at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele in July 2015.

“I felt the need to work with vocals and to create an additional layer that breathes in this space between the electronic music and myself. I was very attracted to this idea, so Tamer and I wrote and arranged the choir parts together,” Dillon explains. The choir injects a new physical layer into her music, which is dominated by piano and electronic sounds, and her own voice dances longingly in this space. The newly released live recording of the concert reveals just how naturally this new element slots into her dramatically minimal music.

“When I started writing my new album 'The Unknown' I already knew it would be a continuation of 'This Silence Kills' in terms of both music and content. Now the two albums are being brought together as a release, as well as in the live shows. For me, this album could be called 'This Silence Kills The Unknown', the 28-year-old reveals. A film of the concert at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele is being released alongside the live album. And in 2017 this will be followed by a third studio album, this time entirely separate from the works that came before, which Dillon herself describes as an “album of love”.

New release: Trentemøller's 'Fixion'

Trentemøller's fourth studio album is out on 16 September.

Following the celebrated 2013 release 'Lost', Anders continues the development of his trademark sound on 'Fixion'. Ranging stylistically from minimalistic Electrotracks to Electropunk, the new work sounds somewhat more organic and songoriented.

As he says himself:"I just love the idea of creating an imaginary world with music. For me, music is fiction. It does not exist seperate from reality. Fiction is irreal reality. Both belong together and are one."(from depechemode.de)

'Fixion' is released on In My Room.
