Fear Factory

Fear Factory release 'The Industrialist' on AFM for Europe

Fear Factory’s innovative approach to and merging of industrial, death and alternative metal has had an impact on metal music since the release of their first album in 1992. The band is cited as an influence by many artists - from Machine Head, Chimaira, Spineshank, Disturbed, Static-X and Coal Chamber to contemporary bands like Mnemic, Scarve, Stiff Valentine, Sybreed, Threat Signal or Hypocrisy, who have all credited the band with inspiration. And in a recent interview, Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward stated Fear Factory is one of the bands he wishes he could play with.

We’ll see - for now, Burton C. Bell and Dino Cazares are back and touring the world with a new rhythm section - former Chimaira guitarist Matt DeVries on bass and Mike Heller on drums.

'The Industrialist' continues Fear Factory’s concept of men vs. machine and the slavery of society at the hands of technology - from the perspective of the machine of course.

Firewater Video 'A Little Revolution'

New album by Ex Cop Shoot Cop frontman Tod A on Nois-o-lution

Since leaving NYC for immersion in global music and culture in 2005, Firewater’s music brings together Klezmer, Balkan, Ska and Indian music to a “new new world order where the rock and roll revolution has a multicultural rank and file”.

Tod's work in turn influenced Balkan punk alternative bands like Gogol Bordello and Balkan Beat Box, which both feature ex-Firewater members. “As an East European musician I must say that Tod A wrote some great songs using East European musical idiom,” said Gogol Bordello front man Eugene Hutz. “He’s responsible for some great innovative hybrids.” (Quotes from Wall Street Journal review).

Tod meanwhile lives in Istanbul when not on tour. “The city ist fascinating. It’s a melting pot – a lot like NYC. And with the revolutions going on all around, I knew we should record here.”

Moon Harbour News

Moon Harbour impressario Matthias Tanzmann crafts fabric 65 into a chunky and mesmerizing episode of the compilation series. Featuring classics (Silicone Soul 'Right On, Right On' Tanzmann remix) alongside current cuts (Maya Jane Coles 'Not Listening' entwined together in his own unique style, the mix is an insight into a longstanding hero of the house music community.

„In my mix I wanted to show music that touches me right now, and at the same time won’t be so popular that it will be out of fashion after this year. I would like the CD to be enjoyable for many years to come.“

Matthias grew up in Leipzig, Germany during the time the Berlin Wall came down. During his studies he began various ventures into production and started his infamous record label twelve years ago, long before Berlin was an epicenter for house and techno music.

The Moon Harbour Night at the Amsterdam Dance Event 2012 will take place at Odeon on 20 October and feature Luna City Express, Italoboyz, Sven Tasnadi, Matthias of course a.m.o..

ADE 2012 Showcase

The Heavy - New Album

Soul-rockers new album 'The Glorious Dead'  out on Counter Records/Ninja Tune.

It's their most fully-realized record yet, mixing together soul, hip hop, rock, blues and funk into glorious, raucous party music that is equally full of heart.

The first single from The Glorious Dead, 'What Makes A Good Man', follows in the footsteps of the band's sleeper hit 'How You Like Me Now' with its monumental chorus and crunching beats. But there's more to the album - from the horror film atmospherics of 'Can't Play Dead' to the laid-back sincerity of 'Curse Me Good', the funked-up hip hop rhythm of 'Big Bad Wolf' and the epic, heavy-hitting gospel rock 'n' roll of 'Same 'Ol'.
