OUT: album ‘The Notorious 98 Roadtrip' by Green Piccolo

Born in 1993 in a city of south Germany, playing basketball and growing up with supreme producers like Pete Rock, J Dilla and Hi-Tek, GP found a spiritual connection to the culture of HipHop early in his life. As Green Piccolo was always surrounded by the city’s electronic music scene, you can still recognize this influence in his arrangements, f.e. his deep mellow break parts, which are rather unusual for HipHop producers. That's also the reason why Piccolo doesn't define his music as 'beats', as he sees himself not as a service provider for soundscapes but an independent stand-alone artist. A characteristic that you can feel in every piece of music and that makes his music so special.

In his career to date, Green Piccolo has released various instrumental projects on various labels, such as Ryan Celsius Sounds or Waveplanet Records, the house label of Viennese producing legend Brenk Sinatra. He also has releases on Ninetofive Records, Vinyl Digital, Contre Jour, Inner Ocean Records and 808 Muzik.

OUT: album 'Mono' by Material Object

Recorded during the winter solstice of the 21st century, the artist, masked and draped in bells, trailing bears and cockerels, parades down the main street of the carnival in his own mind, belting out future soundtracks for psychedelic paganism.

Children squeal in delight and scatter, as the hooded figure and his masked cohorts chase away the darkness with jubilant tones. Spring is ready and we welcome it with extravagant noise and colour. We come alive and nature reciprocates, as long as we stay brave and make our joyous intent clear. We welcome the light so dear.

Realised entirely on what the future will no doubt label ‘Old Technology’, the artist presents six unique movements of mono synthesis woven into a singular musical vision. Standing in defiance of genre or classification, respected scientific minds have managed only to label it as ‘Taller than an Emperor Penguin with the Poundage of a Newborn Horse’. This cultural artefact is destined to baffle ethnobotanists for centuries to come.
